Silva buzz at Hornets

- BY MIKE WALTERS

WATFORD believe they are in the box seat to land Marco Silva as their new boss – just 24 hours after he quit relegated Hull. The Hornets, who sacked Walter Mazzarri nine days ago, have been in advanced talks with the Portuguese, who decided not to take up his option to remain a Tiger. Crystal Palace, stunned by the sudden resignation of coach Sam Allardyce earlier this week, are also keen on Silva. But Watford, who lost their last six games under Mazzarri after the fiery Italian fell out with his players, had already made Silva their top target before Palace declared an interest.
