Blues boss nets a £40 BONANZA

- BY DARREN LEWIS

ANTONIO CONTE is poised to sign a staggering new £40million Chelsea contract.

The title-winning Italian – set to step up his English lessons this summer – is planning a short break after today’s FA Cup final against Arsenal. He will return for talks, which the club hope will end with him signing a £9.6m-a-year deal, taking him to 2021. The new terms will

make Conte, 47, who has two years left on his current contract, the highest-paid manager in Chelsea history. Inter Milan had made a string of massive offers to tempt the ex-juventus boss back to Serie A. But Conte is looking for a London property, so his wife Elisabetta and daughter Vittoria can join him in the capital. He said: “I think that the club and I have the same point of view. “For a coach, that’s the best solution – to stay for a long time in the same club and build something important.”
