Cowell recruits celebs for supergroup single
SIMON Cowell is enlisting stars to record a charity single after telling the Mirror: “It’s one of the most shocking things I’ve seen.” A supergroup of celebs will sing Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, to raise funds for the fire victims. So far, they include Liam Payne, The Who, Robbie Williams, Louis Tomlinson, Emile Sande, Craig David, X Factor’s Louisa Johnson and James Arthur, and London rappers Skepta and Stormzy Britain’s Got Talent supremo Cowell, 57, who lives in Holland Park, a mile from the tower, said: “I was going to send a cheque, but I thought we could do more..” Stars will record it at Sarm Studios – half a mile from the inferno – tomorrow. Trevor Horn, from nearby Notting Hill, will produce the song. Comedians including Michael Mcintyre and Alan Carr will play a gig at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, on Tuesday, June 27. Proceeds from the £50 concert go to the victims.
