DRIVERS were urged yesterday to give cyclists a wide berth in an effort to improve road safety. Supt Sue Steen also revealed undercover officers with bodycams will saddle up to catch motorists putting lives at risk. She joined David Mccann from Cycling Ulster to launch the #seethecyclist campaign, which advised riders to travel 0.75m from the kerb and for drivers to give them an overtaking clearance of at least 1.5m when safe to do so. Meanwhile, more than 300 cyclists saddled up for the annual Bike To Work Day 2017. They were welcomed to Belfast City Hall by Lord Mayor Nuala Mcallister to enjoy a free breakfast held the by Department for Infrastructure and council.
