Kids played with bomb hoax device
CHILDREN were found playing with a suspicious object which sparked a security alert. Police slammed those responsible for the elaborate hoax in West Belfast. They added the actions showed “carelessness and complete disregard” for the community. Officers cordoned off part of Horn Drive in the Lenadoon area on Thursday evening after children were found playing with the fake bomb. A controlled explosion was carried out after residents had alerted it to the police. Chief Inspector Kellie Mcmillan said: “Placing this object in an area where children play and families live demonstrates clear carelessness and complete disregard for the people of West Belfast who are simply trying to go about their lives. “I know residents do not want this kind of disruption and so I would ask anyone who may be able to help the police officers investigating this incident.”
