Losing my Freddie costume has been a Nightmare

IT’S a case of Nightmare on our streets as Freddy Krueger has gone missing in Northern Ireland.

But all is not what it seems. Dad-of-one Steven Lavery, who works for an events company dressing up as movie characters, is at a loss after the suitcase storing his Freddy Krueger costume fell from his car. Now he is offering a reward for anyone who can reunite him with the horror movie favourite. Steven said: “It was Friday night, I went to do a photo shoot in Donaghadee at 7.30pm which lasted until 10.30pm. “I had my Freddy Krueger costume with me and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles one. I was talking to the photographer outside and put the suitcases with the costumes in them in the boot of the car and Krueger was on top. “It was not until I was driving into Belfast that a truck driver started blaring the horn and I noticed my boot was flying open. “I pulled over and the suitcase was gone. I have no idea where it went missing between Donaghadee and Belfast, it could be nearer Belfast as that is when the guy in the truck noticed but it could have come out earlier. “It is worth at least £2,000, the mask itself is irreplaceable as they guy who makes them isn’t doing it anymore. It’s a one off.” Since Friday night, Steven, from West Belfast, has driven the route at least six times trying to find the dark grey suitcase. He added: “I did the journey twice that night and was not home until 3am then got up the next morning and did it a few more times. “I can’t replace it even if I had the money. The suitcase is dark grey and it is a hard case, the size of one which would have to go into the hold of the plane. “It would freak someone out when they open it up because it will look like body parts at first glance.”
