GINOLA: HARRY’S THE TONIC IF SPURS WANT TITLE

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

HARRY KANE has been urged to stay at Tottenham and fire his boyhood club to the title. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hopes to one day give the striker a decision to make over his future at White Hart Lane. Mourinho has decided he would rather break United’s transfer record to sign Kane than former Reds hero Cristiano Ronaldo, who is unsettled at Real Madrid. But Tottenham favourite David Ginola (right) said: “Harry Kane should stay at Spurs for them to win the league next season. “It’s very important because they finished runners-up, had a great season and they need to keep their best assets if they want to win anything in the next few years. “Harry Kane is one of their best assets. Him and Dele Alli.” Kane is tied to Spurs until 2022, loves the club and has no desire to leave. Last season he scored 29 Premier League goals to become the first back-toback Golden Boot winner since Robin van Persie in 2013. He also joined legends Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry by becoming only the fourth player to score 20 league goals three seasons running. Kane pipped Romelu Lukaku to the Golden boot and Everton have put a £100million price tag on their striker amid interest from champions Chelsea. Ginola told TALKSPORT: “I think it would be similar to Lukaku, in the same region of money for Kane. “Remember when Gareth Bale left Spurs to go to Real Madrid for £80m or £100m? Now you have a few players worth this kind of money. “And when you think about strikers who can score more than 20, 25 goals in the league you need to put the money on the table for them.” Another Spurs legend, former player and coach Clive Allen, added: “Defenders know what he does. They will analyse him every week, how he scores, what areas of the pitch he gets his goals from, yet you can’t stop him. I think that’s his greatest attribute. Everyone knows Harry Kane scores goals but you can’t stop him doing it.”
