It’s the one genre that sells abroad for loads of money. So it’s no surprise all the channels announced loads of dramas at the same time yesterday. Here are some of the ones we have to look forward to... BBC Filming begins in Scotland this month on Ordeal By Innocence, based on Agatha Christie’s classic. The three-parter has a cast including Bill Nighy, Catherine Keener, Matthew Goode and Ed Westwick. ITV Work has begun on the second series of Marcella with Anna Friel leading the cast in a read-through. The eight-part series is once again set in London. Interweaving storylines and characters from all different walks of life and backgrounds will lead the audience on a complex and emotional journey and keep them guessing until the very end. Anna Friel, right, said: “The reaction from everyone has been amazing but the real question I keep being asked is whether the green parka will be making an appearance in season 2 as well?” C4 Kiri is a four-parter written and produced by the team who brought us last year’s National Treasure. Starring Sarah Lancashire, it examines the abduction and death of a young black girl, named Kiri, who was soon to be adopted by her white foster family. Pure is a six-part series adapted from Rose Bretécher’s memoir. It is described as “sharply observed” and explores a young woman’s battle with her X-rated imagination. She struggles with a type of OCD known as Pure-o. And finally, No Offence, Paul Abbott’s hit Manchester-based police series, is returning for a third run .
