Mum's verdict on Montana's sex on TV..

- BY AMANDA KILLELEA and ASHLEIGH RAINBIRD

THE mum of Love Island’s Montana Brown said it was “challenging” watching her daughter have sex on TV in front of millions of viewers.

Sarah Brown, 51, said: “A mum doesn’t really want to be involved in that side of her daughter’s life so I would rather not have seen that.”

She said the 20-minute romp under the duvet with Alex Beattie only happened because Montana was in a “pressurised environment” and being “choreographed” by producers.

Sarah said she was surprised how quickly the relationship with Alex took off sexually and said it was unlike her 21-year-old daughter.

“She has a lot of integrity and high standards. Usually Montana is laid back when she meets somebody and will take her time and obviously she hasn’t.

“It has been an interesting version of Montana which isn’t really her. When she likes somebody, she likes them, but wouldn’t normally go head-first in. Everything seems to be fast-tracked.

“The thing with Alex has been an interesting twist and not necessarily what she would normally be like.

PRIVATE

“I presume being in a pressurised environment means the reality is different. She is normally really private. I think it must be quite choreographed and I know they are directed, so what you see is not always the reality.”

Viewers were delighted Montana has seemingly found her Mr Right in Alex, 22, after several weeks struggling to find love on the ITV2 show.

Montana said on the programme: “Sometimes things happen in the moment. But no regrets, as I think it brings us closer together.”

But although Sarah admitted she found the hanky-panky difficult to watch, she insisted she was proud of her daughter for being true to her natural character.

She told the Mirror: “She knows who she is. I have absolute faith in her. I love her and I like her as a person.

“The last thing I said to her before she walked out the door was ‘Just be true to yourself ’. She is just a normal girl. She laughs at herself and doesn’t take herself too seriously.

“She has done remarkably well. She has made me laugh and some of the quips she said are so Montana. She really has been herself.”

Of a potential future son-in-law in Alex, Sarah said: “I don’t know Alex. He has put a smile on her face, which makes me happy, seeing her happy.”

A spokesman for the show said last night: “We follow the islanders’ relationships. We do not direct them.”
