MORE than 380,000 Volkswagen cars in the UK may be faulty after being fixed in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal, a law firm has claimed. Around 56,000 of those could have a flaw where the car suddenly decelerates. VW has fixed more than 720,000 of the 1.2million cars affected in the UK, mostly via a software update.

Law firm Harcus Sinclair said that in a survey of 9,500 owners whose cars had been repaired, over half reported problems.

More than 14% of those saw a sudden loss of power when the car switched to limp mode, a safety feature designed to protect THIS elephant won’t forget being part of a jumbo rescue mission after it was dragged out to sea by strong currents.

A naval patrol boat saw the animal floundering about eight nautical miles off the coast of Sri Lanka. A second the engine. Damon Parker, of Harcus Sinclair, said: “Based on these numbers, 381,000 cars may have problems post-fix, of which 56,000 may have switched into limp mode. The fix may have a detrimental impact on the car’s performance and running costs.”

VW said: “This survey is limited to the firm’s clients and not representative of all drivers.” boat used ropes to bring the elephant safely back to dry land.

Elephants have been known to swim distances of up to 29 miles and are comfortable in water as they float easily and use their trunks to breathe.
