We’ve talked of getting a vice girl for Harvey
Katie Price’s plans for disabled son
KATIE Price has considered hiring a prostitute for her disabled son Harvey when he reaches 18.
The former glamour model, 39, made the revelation on Loose Women, after author Kathy Lette said she had thought about getting a vice girl for her autistic son Julius. Katie said that her husband Kieran Hayler, 30, had joked about doing the same for Harvey.
Katie said: “My son Harvey has autism and he’s just hit puberty, and it’s obviously natural to experiment. He has high-function autism and I’m like, ‘Is it fair to let him go without?’ Kieran joked and said maybe we should get him a prostitute when he’s 18. I said, ‘But that’s my little Harvey and I don’t want to do that.’ But do you wait and let him experience it for himself ?”
Harvey, 15, the son of former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, is autistic, registered blind and suffers from a number of medial conditions. Kathy, 58, said that those with autism can struggle to have a fulfilling love life as they find it difficult to read social situations.
She added: “Autistic people have sexual needs too. If the child expresses a desire and a curiosity, then you might look into having those needs met.”
Asked by the Loose Women panel if he would like a prostitute, Julius, 26, said: “It’s something I’ve thought about. I think I would like some parts of it.”
Many of the ITV show’s viewers agreed with Kathy’s idea. One said: “I took my autistic son to Amsterdam for his 18th. He chose not to purchase any services, but I would have fully supported him.”
