A LINFIELD fan who shouted sectarian abuse at Celtic Park is in bother with his wife.

Scott Colville, 46, from Belfast, was fined £300 yesterday for loudly singing “F **** n b ***** ds” before Wednesday’s game.

The greengrocer’s lawyer said his client’s spouse was “none too impressed”.

And Glasgow sheriff Brian Cameron told the lout: “I think the wrath of your wife will probably be more than the punishment I’m going to hand out.”

Colville was arrested after police saw him singing the song Super Rangers, including the offensive line. He spent the night in the cells.

A lawyer said Colville started drinking when he got on the ferry in Belfast on Wednesday morning to go to the game. She added: “He described the atmosphere as they walked into Celtic Park as boisterous.

“He was under the influence, found himself caught up in the atmosphere and joined in singing. He will return to Belfast today to face the wrath of his wife, who is none too impressed.”

Colville was one of four men arrested in and around the game. He and a 19-year-old were held over offensive behaviour at football and two males, aged 20 and 22, face drink-related allegations.

Police are investigating “the behaviour of a small section of supporters of both teams”.
