Pension plan to cost £10k
PEOPLE in their 30s and 40s will lose nearly £10,000 under Tory plans to bring forward a rise in the state pension age, figures show.
Some 7.6 million people born between 1970 and 1978 will have to wait until they are 68 – an extra year, – it emerged last week.
Experts at the House of Commons Library found the £74billion saved works out at £9,800 per person. Debbie Abrahams, Shadow Pensions Secretary, said: “This is unjustified.”
DWP said it will save each household £400 a year.
