Rescue pair’s grim ordeal

A WOMAN who crawled several hours after slipping and injuring an ankle was rescued from one of the UK’S most remote areas.

She spent the night on a mountain in an emergency shelter in the Great Wilderness, near Ullapool, North West Scotland.

Next day her partner walked five hours to seek help. The woman, in her 20s, was airlifted by a Coastguard helicopter.

Rescuers said the pair “did the right thing” and were well equipped.
