Triathlon joy for amputee after lung op
A QUADRUPLE amputee who had two-thirds of her lung removed four months ago has completed the world’s largest triathlon.
Corinne Hutton, 47, finished in one hour, 52 minutes and 22 seconds at the weekend.
She lost her hands and feet due to septicaemia in 2013 and the disease also scarred her lungs.
Corinne, from Renfrewshire, raced in the AJ Bell London Triathlon to raise money for her charity, Finding Your Feet.
She said: “It was my first triathlon and the nerves did set in but I absolutely loved the challenge.”
Corinne hopes to have a double hand transplant after Chris King, 57, of Doncaster, South Yorks, became the first person in the UK to get one last July.
