Blues sorry for Kenedy posts
CHELSEA have apologised to the people of China after being left embarrassed by Kenedy’s “offensive social media posts”, during the club’s visit last week.
The Brazil Under-20 international was booed by local fans during The Blues’ 3-0 win over Arsenal in Beijing on Saturday. It came after a series of videos, one including an offensive term, were uploaded to the player’s Instagram account.
Chelsea revealed Kenedy, 21, had been “strongly reprimanded and disciplined”, and issued a statement that said: “We sincerely apologise for the hurt caused to our Chinese fans, as well as to the Chinese people.”
Kenedy had earlier posted his own apology – since deleted.
