CHINA’S Haotong Li shot a sensational 63 to finish third on his Open debut – and become famous for his golf, not his embarrassing mum.

The world No.107 threw his putter into a lake at the French Open last month. His mother waded in to retrieve it – only to toss it back in when she saw it was broken. “Stop reminding me!” he said after his flying finish yesterday that saw him birdie the final four holes.
