WHAT WE’RE ALL SAYING FIONA PARKER TV tribute fit for a People’s Princess THE ISSUE
To mark the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death on August 31, Princes William and Harry paid tribute to her in the ITV documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. It touched many readers...
I’m one of the millions who thoroughly enjoyed the ITV documentary celebrating the life and times of the late Princess of Wales.
It was generous of her sons William and Harry to share previously unseen footage and photographs from their private collection. There were many defining moments of this programme, but one which stood out for me was when Diana made her impassioned plea for the homeless.
I can imagine she would have been one of the first to visit the victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
We not only lost a Princess and our Queen of Hearts 20 years ago, but a people’s champion too.

What a beautiful and touching programme Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy was.
It was a reminder of what an iconic figure she was and still is, together with all the values she instilled in her sons, who are following in her footsteps. Diana may only have been 36 when she died, but she did so much and touched the lives of so many.

Your article asks if Prince Charles was hurt that he wasn’t given more of a mention in the documentary (Mirror, July 25).
I don’t think so because this was a programme about Princess Diana. She breathed life and fun into the Royal Family and made the public fall back in love with them.
The Princes are an absolute credit to her as they are so down-to-earth and normal.

The latest instalment of royal mania is the reflections of William and Harry in relation to their mum’s passing 20 years ago.
I am not for one moment belittling their sadness. However, we all know children who have come to terms with the loss of a parent – some have to deal with the loss of both parents.
Many of these children lose financial security and have to come to terms with a much reduced standard of living – something William and Harry will never experience.

Ten out of 10 to William and Harry for the TV tribute to their mum. It was totally understood in our home why there was so little mention of their dad.
While Charles is happy in his second marriage, his sons will never have another mother, so they are both entitled to show their grief.

I watched William and Harry’s tribute to their beloved mum with tears in my eyes.
Having lost two of my own children, I know the heartache of grief. Diana was a wonderful person, a devoted mum and will always be the People’s Princess. God bless William and Harry.

What a wonderful, moving tribute. Princes William and Harry talked with such pride and emotion about their mum. Princess Diana’s caring and loving nature lives on in her sons.
