Abuse no problem for Leigh

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

LEIGH GRIFFITHS slapped down a vile fan at Glasgow Airport – but Brendan Rodgers just wants the hitman to put Rosenborg in their place.

The Celtic striker was caught on camera hitting back at a punter he suspected to be a Rangers fan who made a ‘paedo’ jibe by responding ‘your club’s dead mate, beat it’.

The incident happened as the Hoops were checking in for their flight to Norway yesterday.

The clip caught fire on social media but Rodgers said: “I wouldn’t even go there with me and social media.

“I don’t have Facebook or Twitter. If I don’t do it I really don’t want to talk about it.”

Rodgers is just thrilled the hitman is back after

sitting out last week’s first leg through a ban and then struggling with a sore calf.

Griffiths has taken part in full training and it’s now up to the Parkhead boss to decide to pitch him in from the start – or use him as an impact man.

Rodgers said: “You are weighing up both. Does he play 60 minutes and then come off?

“Or do you put him on to make an impact later in the game when it is stretched and there is space?

“I haven’t spoken to him. I just need to know he is available.”

Rodgers can call on fit-again Erik Sviatchenko but youngster Kristoffer Ajer could keep his place in the centre of defence.
