20yrs’ jail for burning his brother to death
Only good news is on menu at White House
A YOUNG woman says her future has been stolen after her boyfriend was murdered by his brother in a fire.
Blair Logan killed his brother Cameron, 23, and left his girlfriend Rebecca Williams, 25, with serious injuries after he poured petrol over their bed and set it alight.
Cameron’s parents, David and Catherine, were treated for smoke inhalation after the fire at the Logan family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, on New Year’s Day. The family dog, Gomez, was also killed.
Blair, 27, was yesterday given a life sentence with a minimum of 20 years at the High Court in Edinburgh, after previously admitting murder, attempted murder, and endangering the lives of his parents. The brothers were said to have had a “hostile” relationship. Blair told police they had not spoken since 2013.
Blair, who had carried out internet searches on burns victims before the attack, admitted pouring petrol “with the intention of maiming or crippling” Cameron, but claimed he did not mean to kill him.
Defence QC Shelagh Mccall said Blair had shown remorse. The attack was said to be in retaliation for a fight in which Cameron punched Blair.
Judge Lady Scott said that Blair had “acted with wicked recklessness”.
Outside court, Rebecca’s father, Phillip, read a statement on her behalf. It said: “Cameron was my best friend and partner, who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. [That] future has been stolen from us.”
Rebecca said: “Cameron died in the most cruel way, in front of my eyes.” While most of us need a cup of coffee to start our day, it’s been revealed that Donald Trump demands his begins with a folder of good news.
The President’s flunkies hand him what’s known as the “Propaganda Document” full of positive headlines, admiring tweets and snaps of him “looking powerful”. White House sources say his press team fights over who gets to hand it to him.
The only feedback the team has ever had is “it needs to be more f ****** positive”.
And The Donald ensures he receives another serving of propaganda with his afternoon ice cream.
