Airport park firm raided for car keys

- BY STEPHEN WHITE BY ADAM ASPINALL

MORE than 130 car keys have been stolen from a meet-and-greet airport parking company.

And some 50 holidaying families still have not been told about the theft for fear of “ruining their trips”.

Thieves used a special tool to get through three doors in the raid a week ago at Car Park Manchester’s depot in Altrincham.

The firm has stepped up security at the long-stay parking site a mile from Manchester Airport and secured the cars affected.

Director Sultan Khan admitted: “Thieves have been on site every night since trying to steal cars.

“We’re not geared up for organised criminal gangs, who must have been planning this for months. We’ve spared no expense to get customers safely home.” TALK about out of the fire into the frying pan…

A 999 crew who rescued 18 piglets and two sows from a blaze were handed them back as sausages, by way of thanks from grateful farmer Rachel Rivers.

And the firefighters cooked them on a barbecue before posting pictures of their sizzling treat. But the snap did not go down too well with animal lovers and it was yesterday taken down.

The piglets were two weeks old when they were saved from their burning pen at Milton, Wilts. Rachel fattened them up for six months before handing them to the crew at nearby Pewsey.

She said: “At the time I told them I would give them the sausages.

“This was just a token gesture to the fire service. They were over the moon with them.” A message on the Pewsey
