is always a tough place to go and play.

“They’re no mugs and have been up there for the last few seasons.

“From our point of view, we don’t want a repeat of last season scrapping at the bottom.

“Time will tell what we can achieve but I think we’re a good footballing side this year.

“We’ve brought in boys who can create and also goalscorers – and we have always been capable of keeping clean sheets with one of the best goalkeepers in the league in Deccy Brown.

“The league is getting tougher all the time and we want to be a part of that and be competitive in every game.

“Lisburn Distillery are going to be up there challenging this year so it was pleasing to beat them on Saturday. They have two very good wingers who will hurt teams and a centre-midfielder who is fantastic from set pieces.

“We knew exactly how they would set up and we were able to counteract that.

“The week before we had enough chances to win two games and it was the same on Saturday where we created a lot of chances.

“I thought we controlled the game very well and deserved the win,” concluded Corrigan (above).

Meanwhile, in the Steel and Sons Cup, last year’s beaten finalists Dundela turned on the style to demolish Ballymena United under-20s.

However, the early exchanges suggested it would be a better afternoon for the Braidmen as they drew level through Dobbin following Hughes’ opener. But Daniel Burns restored the Duns’ advantage before a double from Curtis Black pulled them clear.

Hughes added another couple to complete his hat-trick with Burns hitting a second late on and James Sofley opening his personal account for the season with the eighth and final goal of the game.

And West Belfast side Sport and Leisure Swifts also filled their boots in front of goal, putting seven past Bangor Amateurs without reply.

It took the Swifts until the 41st minute before they could break the deadlock, Ryan Mcauley with the opener.

But from then on it was oneway traffic with six more different scorers – Mcgrogan, Johnson, Gallagher, Jody Lynch, Mcgonnell and Kevin Lynch.
