CHRIS SHERRARD A HIGH FIVE FOR LEADERS

By Unbeaten Rangers have made perfect start

-

BARELY a handful of games into the season and only one 100% Intermediate A record remains.

Banbridge Rangers have chalked up five wins from five games to head the standings.

Their latest success was another impressive victory on the road – 4-2 at Moneyslane.

Chambers, Cunningham, Elliott and former Rathfriland striker Ally Wilson scored the goals on the night for the Gers.

Top scorers in the top flight last week, though, were Tandragee Rovers who put eight past AFC Silverwood.

Mark Bicker continued his fine start to the season with another four goals while Raymond Harpur added two and Josh Mcilwrath and Mark Baird also got on the scoresheet. With a variety of competitions being contested this coming week, top-flight action is sporadic.

But there is the mouthwatering prospect of two of the three unbeaten sides meeting.

That comes this evening when Crewe United will play host to Dollingstown.

Both have identical records after four games – three wins and a draw – and both have netted 10 times in those matches.

Tomorrow sees Windmill Stars and Tandragee Rovers both aim to build on their good form when they meet at Holm Park with St Mary’s hosting Fivemiletown.

The Tyrone men are back in action on Saturday, this time at home to Ballymacash Rangers. Their namesakes Banbridge are away to St Mary’s while Windmill go to winless Camlough.

Meanwhile, Ballymacash have strengthened their starting lineup with the signing of William Cushley from neighbours Lisburn Distillery.

The frontman bolsters Cash’s attacking options, much needed given they’ve scored just twice in their opening three league matches. Elsewhere, Crewe United have added three more players to their squad – Marc Meleady, Declan Gaskin and Michael Mcgann (inset) all move from Aghalee Village.

Camlough Rovers have snapped up Abel Dacosta who had previously been registered with Banbridge Town.

* THE draw for the second round of the Irish Cup has presented Mid-ulster sides with some exciting ties.

Markethill Swifts have an away day at Annagh United to look forward to while Valley Rangers will fancy their chances when they go to Colin Valley.

Hanover are away to Drumaness Mills with Lurgan Town going to Maiden City.

Windmill Stars also have Irish League opposition in the form of an away draw against Sport and Leisure Swifts.

Tandragee Rovers were given a home draw against Lisburn Rangers, Craigavon City go to Cookstown Youth and Laurelvale host Tullyvallen Rangers.
