Murder victim’s ex faked will for house

-

A MAN forged the signature of his murdered ex-girlfriend in a bid to get his hands on her 65% stake in their £850,000 home.

Robert Webb, 54, faked the will of Mayfair antiques dealer Robyn Mercer, 52, after she was bludgeoned to death on their doorstep.

They still lived together despite the split and her body was found on the driveway in West Molesey, Surrey, in March last year. A court heard in September last year Webb told police he had found her will and had it witnessed before sending it to his solicitors.

But prosecutor Lee Harris said: “A handwriting expert said there was strong support for the proposition it was not her writing.” Kingston crown court heard yesterday that Webb admitted using a false instrument with intent it be accepted as genuine. Judge Recorder David Brock adjourned sentencing for a probation report and Webb was bailed.

He told him: “I make no promises, it is an all options report for the judge on that day.”

Nobody has been charged with Ms Mercer’s murder and the probe continues.
