HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED...

what sleep in your eyes is?

-

“Sleep” is the name used for discharge from your eyes during the night. It’s made up of dust, blood cells, skin cells mixed with mucus secreted by the conjunctiva, as well as an oily substance from the meibomian glands. When you’re awake, “sleep” is naturally washed away via tears and blinking. When you sleep it gathers in the corner of your eyes, along the eye lines and dries out creating hard yellowish “eye bogies”.
