David gets Loughgall up and running with hat-trick

DAVID COCHRANE hit a hattrick in the first half for Loughgall Youth when they beat Hillsborough Boys 4-0 in the Daily Mirror Lisburn Junior League’s under-16 section.

He scored two in the opening nine minutes and completed his hat-trick before the interval. Bailey Dowzell got the other goal in the opening period.

Forget the overall scoreline though for Hillsborough had Loughgall on the back foot in the second half and deserved better during this period.

Credit to both teams, however, for their performances in torrential rain and cold conditions. Dean Elliott was the Loughgall inspiration throughout, while Vital Zawula ran the show for Boro when he came on as a substitute for a second successive week and was a “vital’’performer.

Other 4-0 winners in this group were TTBS over Downpatrick, while TW Braga beat Lisburn Rangers 6-2, Ballmoney won 3-0 against Banbridge Town and Dromore beat North End 2-1.
