SHE LUSTS AFTER MY BEST FRIEND

-

Dear Coleen

My girlfriend constantly goes on about how hot my best friend is. We’re all in our mid-20s and my friend and I have known each other since school.

At first I just laughed it off because he does get a lot of attention from women. But now it’s starting to really get on my nerves and I’m wondering whether she’d rather date him.

I don’t want to invite him on nights out now because she clearly fancies him and I’ll end up feeling like a spare part, but I don’t want it to affect things between me and him either.

Any tips?

If she’s constantly making remarks about your friend, then it’s not acceptable. Generally, I’m not a fan of game-playing, but why not give her a taste of her own medicine and see how she likes it?

Next time you’re out, point out ‘hot’ women. I’m pretty sure she won’t take it well, but then you can say, ‘Now you know how I feel when you make comments about my friend – all the time!’

What you must be careful not to do is let this affect your confidence and self-esteem because there are plenty of women out there who won’t make you feel second best.

If it doesn’t stop and it’s clear she has no respect for your feelings, then walk away.

In the meantime, stick to your plan and only see your mate when she’s not there.
