WHAT WE’RE ALL SAYING It’s World Gratitude Day! Who could you say “Thank You” to? THE ISSUE
Aloha ‘Thank You!’ World Gratitude Day started in 1965 in Hawaii. The idea was born during an international gathering with the first Gratitude Day celebrated the following year on September 21 in each attending member’s country. The idea was that saying “Thank You” would have a positive impact on wellbeing, making people happier and more content.
Since then, the number of people celebrating Gratitude Day across the world has grown and grown. Now, together with Cadbury’s Roses, we’re sharing the gratitude, and rewarding the ‘Thank Yous’ – there’s a box of Cadbury’s Roses for every reader ‘Thank You’ published.
A friend suggested keeping a diary of things in life you feel grateful for – three little things each day. Start that diary on World Gratitude Day and feel better about life!

Thank everyone you appreciate. I’ll use World Gratitude Day to thank my family and friends for being awesome, and my colleagues for doing their jobs well – it’s so easy to think that because they get paid, thanks are unnecessary, but people never fail to appreciate recognition.

As a teacher, the end of term bottles of wine and chocolates arrive, but it is nice when parents acknowledge appreciation for weekly efforts that go beyond the call of duty. World Gratitude Day is a great opportunity to say “Thank You!”

I work as a waitress. My favourite experiences are with elderly customers who always remember to say “Thank You” and seem to really appreciate my contribution to their day. It would be so nice if everyone else remembered to say “Thank You” today! Amber Millar, Plymouth
