Eamonn to sweat on Ruth’s dirty dancing

- IAN HYLAND

Worrying news for Eamonn Holmes on C5 last night from a psychologist nicknamed Doctor Dance.

He confirmed what every Strictly Come Dancing fan already knew: “Dancing with someone is the ultimate act of romance. It’s just like making love.”

So don’t be surprised to see Eamonn sweating tomorrow night when wife Ruth Langsford takes to the floor with Anton Du Beke.

Eamonn and Ruth met Doctor Dance for their new series

Eamonn & Ruth’s 7 Year Itch

which discovered how couples spice things up once they’ve hit that traditionally tricky anniversary.

It’s the kind of show that has you crying with laughter one minute and covering your eyes – and ears – the next. I know we’re meant to be a lot more open nowadays, but whenever I see swingers talking about swinging or alfresco lovemakers talking about outdoor passion, all I hear in my head is a panicked Alan Partridge yelling: “Lynne, these are sex people!”

Eamonn appeared to be hearing that too, not least when he met a dungeon mistress who boasted: “The 50 Shades Of Grey book was brilliant for my business.” (I’m guessing the hardback was great for spanking.)

Ruth seemed more relaxed, although even she drew the line at Eamonn having extramarital shenanigans to “help him grow”. “Don’t get any ideas,” she snapped. “I’ve seen you looking at that woman in the sandwich shop.” Don’t worry, Ruth.

I’m sure the only baps Eamonn lusts after are her jumbo all-day breakfasts on granary.
