CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HARRY: LIFE’S TWEET

People on the net say I”m up there with Messi and Ronaldo..it’s a great incentive to get closer to them

-

for club and country, social media was swamped with data showing how he stacks up against Ronaldo and Messi.

And being in the same Champions League group as Real Madrid gives Kane the chance to try to out-score Ronaldo over 180 minutes. They meet at the Bernabeu next month and Wembley in November.

But it is Apoel Nicosia in Kane’s sights tonight, although Ronaldo and Messi are never far from his thoughts.

Asked if he keeps an eye on their records he said: “With social media these days it’s difficult to stay away from it.

“Everyone is tweeting this thing or that thing and you see it. Obviously, I want to be one of the best in the world, so people put it up and I see I’m close to those players.

“It’s a great incentive to get closer and go to the next step.

“To be one of the best you have to stay up with the best and I want to score goals and maintain my form, and that’s what it is about, staying consistent at the top level.”

Kane’s goalless August is now a distant memory.

After his stunning return to form he believes he is now “probably in the best shape of my life” and without doubt Spurs’ man-of-the-moment.

Team-mate Ben Davies joked: “None of us can do an interview at the moment without being asked about Harry. We’re being asked questions about him that we don’t know what else to say. All the boys appreciate him. He is just incredible.

“He needs just one chance or even half chance to produce a bit of magic and score. As a defender it’s brilliant when you have a striker like that in your team.

“It means you go into a game knowing if you keep a clean sheet you’re more than likely to come away with the three points.”
