After the from the dust. I kn BY

-

Today was a very awful day I wish I could forget. I woke up because there was a rumble like an earthquake and then a loud crashing. The sound and shaking were so loud they felt like they could break my bones.

When the bombs fall right on top of you like this, you can’t hear anything.

It’s like all the noise in the world at once, but at the same time like someone is holding a pillow on your head.

Everything shakes, you feel it in your bones and your insides – even in your teeth. It’s like the air is pressing down on you, trying to smash you into the ground. I started screaming for Mummy.

It looked like night outside, even though it was early morning. There was so much dust in the air.

I could see a bright light outside the window through all the smoke – the building across the street was on fire. I was looking out the window where our balcony used to be. It had been blown off, and glass from the balcony door was everywhere.

Baba scooped up Noor and Mohamed, Mummy grabbed my hand and we all ran for the basement. The door to our apartment was blown off and just hanging there.

Even in the basement we could still feel the shaking and hear the booms. We were all praying, asking God to have mercy on us.

I was so afraid our building would collapse on top of us and leave us buried under all the rocks. I kept wondering what it would feel like. What does it feel like to die?

When it seemed like the said he would g see if things we he called to us a but his voice s When we g bad. It looked hammer to into a millio door was co had never e Part of building an us. Our balc our car and b need a car any many road You cou and cryin
