Weinstein wife: I’ll stand by my man Film boss faces sex pest claims

MOVIE mogul Harvey Weinstein says his British wife is sticking by him despite claims he has sexually harassed women over decades.
Oscar winner Weinstein, 65, insisted Georgina Chapman, 41, and his kids “couldn’t be standing behind me more”.
The dad of five, the executive producer of the The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, added: “I have had tough conversations with my family, really tough ones.
“But my family is standing with me... Georgina will be with others kicking my a** to be a better human being and to apologise to people for my bad behaviour.”
Georgina, who grew up in Richmond, South West London, is co-founder of fashion brand Marchesa.
Weinstein, seen as Hollywood’s most powerful person, was accused in the New York Times on Thursday of misconduct stretching over 30 years. It was claimed he reached at least eight settlements with
women including one who alleged she was coerced into giving him a massage while he was naked. The report also said US film producer Weinstein paid Rose Mcgowan, 44, around £75,000 to settle an incident in a hotel room shortly before her breakthrough role in 1996 film Scream. Actress Ashley Judd, 49, claimed he pestered her, including asking her to watch him shower 20 years ago. She said: “I said no a lot of times, and he always came back at me... It was... coercive bargaining.” Weinstein, who co-founded movie studios Miramax and The Weinstein Company, said: “I need to earn her forgiveness.” He added he was “very remorseful to... everybody I’ve offended”. But he denied he had reached eight settlements. And his lawyer Charles Harder said he is preparing to sue the New York Times for a report “saturated with false and defamatory statements about... Weinstein”. In the wake of the claims Weinstein, who left Miramax in 2005, is stepping back from running The Weinstein Company, whose films include The King’s Speech.
