Critical point for Stormont talks: Minister

- BY MIRROR REPORTER

TALKS aimed at restoring powersharing at Stormont have reached a “sensitive” point, it has been claimed.

The Republic’s Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said the DUP and Sinn Fein “want to make the process work” but they still face “real challenges”.

He told the Seanad in Dublin: “There are sensitive discussions happening. I am somewhat cautious in what I am saying.”

Mr Coveney warned that a “critical point” for the devolved institutions has been reached.

He said: “Ten months have now passed. It means the people of Northern Ireland are not being served by an elected and accountable devolved government.”
