Acid victim: Overpowering smell stopped my breathing

- BY BEN ROSSINGTON

A VICTIM told a court yesterday how he was unable to breathe after an acid attack in a club with “lax security”.

Kwami Licorish, 29, who had eye and forehead burns and now has blurred vision, said: “It was a just a patdown search, we didn’t need ID.

“I remember feeling a splash to my face. My eyes were burning, my face was burning. There was a very strong smell, an overpowering smell. It stopped my breathing. Everybody was screaming, shouting, running. Mr Licorish’s jacket “melted”. He did not see who threw the liquid which injured 16 at the Wringer and Mangle, Hackney, East London, on Easter Monday. TOWIE star Ferne Mccann’s ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, 25, of Broxbourne, Herts, and Andre Phoenix, 21, of Tottenham, North London, deny grievous and actual bodily harm.

The case continues.
