Home of Winnie-the-pooh & tragic Stone is sold for £1.9m
THE farmhouse which inspired Winnie-the-pooh and where a Rolling Stone was found dead in the swimming pool has been snapped up for £1.9million.
Cotchford Farm was AA Milne’s home in the 1920s and the adventures of son Christopher
Robin inspired his books.
The grounds include the settings for Poohsticks Bridge and Pooh Corner. The six- bedroom house in Hartfield, East Sussex, was later bought by Stones guitarist Brian Jones who was found face down in the pool in 1969.
Robert Jacobs, from estate agent Savills, said: “It is rare to come across a property that has been home to not one but two iconic British figures.
“More than that it is a much loved, and idyllic family home in a worldrenowned setting.”
