Plucky Jo in 50-mile trek for MND pal
A WOMAN and her “Blister Sisters” will set off on a 50-mile trek on Saturday in honour of a friend with motor neurone disease.
Joanne Hall, 49, from Ballynahinch, set herself a challenge of walking the distance before she turns 50 in December.
The Co Down woman set up a Whatsapp group for those who wanted to join – and it’s grown into a Facebook group of almost 100 people.
Joanne said: “My friend Willie Annett was diagnosed with MND.
“The Blister Sisters came out of me telling pals what I planned and they said, ‘We’re doing it too’.”
The group will leave from CS Lewis Square in East Belfast to Portavogie, and back the next day.
