Titanic letter: If all goes well we will arrive in New York on Wednesday

-

A LETTER written by a Titanic passenger the day before the liner hit an iceberg and sank on her first voyage has emerged after 105 years.

Wealthy American Alexander Oskar Holverson, 42, told his mother: “If all goes well we will arrive in New York on Wednesday.”

He perished with 1,500 others and the letter was found among his belongings in the Atlantic. It will be auctioned in Devizes, Wilts, and is set to break the £119,000 record for a Titanic letter.
