Branson’s 670mph train aim

RICHARD Branson has bought into a Hyperloop firm and said London to Scotland journeys could be cut to 45 minutes.

His Virgin Group has teamed up with LA firm Hyperloop One to work on technology that propels pods at up to 670mph through low-pressure tubes. The firm aims to have “operational systems” by 2021.

Sir Richard said: “This technology will change transportation as we know it.”

London to Edinburgh trains take four hours, 20 minutes.
