Bent funeral boss is jailed

AN undertaker who paid his pallbearers with mourners’ charity donations has been jailed.

Robert Loveridge, 62, was exposed when a woman complained that money for a hospice and air ambulance in her parents’ memory had not been handed over.

Loveridge, from Teignmouth, Devon, who made £900 profit on a £2,500 funeral, admitted thieving £5,500 from 26 send-offs.

At Exeter crown court, he got eight months and faces paying back the cash.
