Eating for two isn’t healthy
WHAT PREGNANT WOMEN NEED TO KNOW
Over two thirds of pregnant women (69%) don’t know how many extra calories to consume during pregnancy, a poll found.
The survey, commissioned by the National Charity Partnership which includes Diabetes UK, the British Heart Foundation and Tesco, discovered that nearly two thirds of women reported feeling pressured to eat larger meals, while a quarter admitted to using “eating for two” as an excuse to eat unhealthy snacks or meals.
Eating for two is a “very unhelpful” myth, the partnership concluded.
