Mel, Sue and Mary in for a tent reunion

Stan’s Russia call-up

MARY Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are reuniting on screen for the first time since quitting The Great British Bake Off.

All three left the cookery show when it was nicked by Channel 4 last year.

The trio are together again on BBC1 to bring festive cheer to a downtrodden community in South Wales with a revamped community centre and a huge, surprise feast.

And, drumroll please, there will even be a tent! (In truth, it’s more of a marquee, but let’s not split hairs).

Christmas came early for Pentre, in the Rhondda Valley, when Mary, Mel and Sue turned up to provide them with the biggest and best festive party.

Mel and Sue came over all DIY SOS to get a new kitchen in before decorating the entire community centre. Meanwhile, Mary – and her team of helpers – were in charge of rustling up a traditional dinner with all the trimmings. Yum!

One BBC insider said: “Getting Mel, Sue and Mary back together in time for Christmas should be a joyful treat for everyone.

“This community is so deserving of a lovely surprise, especially those who have gone the extra mile to help out their neighbours. The result should be utterly heartwarming.”

The hour-long special, called something along the lines of Mary, Mel and Sue’s Great Feast, will air in the run-up to Christmas.
