Trump made hero’s widow cry

- BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN US Editor

THE widow of a US soldier killed in action has broken her silence to say Donald Trump struggled to remember his name when he rang her up.

The President hit back, tweeting he remembered Sergeant La David Johnson “without hesitation”.

Trump has denied having told pregnant Myeshia Johnson he “knew what he signed up for”.

Mrs Johnson said: “I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband’s name and that’s what hurt me the most. That made me cry even more.”

Johnson, 25, right, was one of four Green

Berets killed in a Niger ambush on October 4.

US Senator John Mccain has taken a swipe at Donald Trump by condemning wealthy Americans for dodging the Vietnam War.

The feud between the fellow Republicans led to the President attacking Mr Mccain, a prisoner of war for five years, saying: “He’s not a war hero. He was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

But Mr Mccain, who has brain cancer, has hit back at people from “the highest income level” who avoided the draft by finding a doctor who “would say they had a bone spur”.

He added: “That’s wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

Mr Trump had five draft deferments during the Vietnam War, including one for foot bone spurs.
