Moussa a seasoned strike ace

- BY CHRIS BEECH

MOUSSA DEMBELE insists he is set to go on a season-long wrecking spree for Celtic.

The French striker has enjoyed a spectacular week with four goals in two games to sink Hibs and Aberdeen, moving his team into the Betfred League

Cup Final and clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Dembele missed the opening weeks of the campaign with a recurring hamstring injury but is flying on his return and fully intends to keep the strikes flowing to make up for the time lost in the treatment room.

He said: “I’m fit. Since I came back from France I’ve been fit but I just had to wait for my time to play.

“Every time the gaffer has given me a bit, I have tried to do my best and at Aberdeen I scored two goals. As a striker, you have to be in the box because that is where you score goals. I just try to be there.

“I am happy for the team, first and foremost, we got the win.

“The whole team contributed to the game and I hope we can continue in that way.

“It is enjoyable to play with this group of players and I can’t wait to keep playing and producing what I did for the rest of the season.”

Dembele’s latest two goals against the Dons at Pittodrie came in a stunning show of strength from the champions.

However, attention switches to tomorrow’s home game with Kilmarnock before the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Dembele added: “The Aberdeen game is gone and we focus on Saturday.”
