More woes for PM May as Cabinet ministers feature on list

- BY BEN GLAZE Deputy Political Editor

THERESA May was reeling last night after two of her closest Cabinet ministers were caught up in Westminster’s sex dossier.

Her right-hand man Damian Green and Home Secretary Amber Rudd are on a list of 36 Tory MPS allegedly drawn up by staff who work for and with Conservative MPS.

First Secretary of State Mr Green’s entry refers to the adultery website

Ashley Madison. In 2015 we reported how what appeared to be his private email address was found on the hook-up site.

Whoever enrolled on the website appealed for a woman who “aches for good sex”.

However he insisted he had never used the website and could not remember whether the email address was his.

He and Mrs May have been pals since their Oxford University days in the 1970s.

In a second blow the Home Secretary’s name is also on the list.

It details her “workplace relationship” with a backbench MP, which had been revealed previously. However, it is understood the relationship was consensual and she is not being accused of any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, Sir Michael Fallon was under mounting pressure after Mrs May’s official spokesman refused to say the Prime Minister had full confidence in the Defence Secretary.

He has apologised after placing his hand on journalist Julia Hartley-brewer’s knee during a dinner 15 years ago.

In a highly-charged briefing with journalists, No10 said it was “right” Sir Michael had apologised but refused to give a “running commentary” on the wider sex scandal.

This week it emerged International Trade Minister Mark Garnier will be probed on whether he breached the Ministerial Code after calling his secretary “sugar t*ts” and getting her to buy two sex toys.

Some fear the crisis could topple the Government if Mrs May is forced to fire ministers or there are more scandals.
