Strikes hit as rail row ends
STRIKES caused the biggest rail disruption in decades yesterday – as an 18-month row over driveroperated trains ended.
But the RMT union said the deal struck by Aslef members with Southern that will take drivers’ pay to £65,000 was “shoddy”.
The RMT, which called strikes by guards yesterday and today, said people in need of assistance could still be left “stranded”.
