YOU SAY

I can relate to the letter from Gail from Sheffield about the stress of caring for an ill and verbally abusive partner (Dear Coleen, October 30). My husband has frontotemporal dementia and Parkinsonism. He can be very rude and abusive, which is totally soul destroying when I spend every day looking after and supporting him. My own life is on hold and, as you say, people always ask about them and never you. There isn’t enough support for carers and it should be recognised how much dealing with this emotional roller coaster affects the carer’s life. Hang on in there – my thoughts are with you.
