THE SWISS CAN’T MISS

- BY HECTOR NUNNS

SWISS legend Kubilay Turkyilmaz has raised the temperature ahead of tonight’s play-off by insisting Northern Ireland are a “lucky draw”.

The striker (above), who bagged 34 international goals, reckons Michael O’neill’s men are light years behind the Swiss on skill and technique.

He believes there can be “only one winner” and that Vladimir Petkovic’s side will breeze through.

He said: “We have so much more quality over a double fixture that nothing must happen to us. If you compare the players individually, the difference is huge!

“If we want to avoid trouble, we have to withstand the storm for the 20 first minutes of the game at Windsor Park.

“They will be coming at us like the fire brigade. And there is no prize for beauty.

“If we manage that, then Northern Ireland will have to suffer our game.

“We have had huge luck with the draw in this play-off, just like for our qualifying group. We could have drawn Sweden, with the first game at home.”
