PSNI probe after boy, 17, is shot in leg
POLICE were probing a paramilitary attack yesterday after a boy of 17 was shot in the leg.
A woman in her 50s was also assaulted after two masked men forced their way into a home in Derry.
The PSNI said: “She was taken to hospital for treatment. Two other adults understood to have been in the house at the time were not hurt.
“While this young man’s injuries are not life threatening, this was a brutal attack – another example of how criminal groups seek to control communities through fear and violence.”
One of the attackers was armed with a handgun while the other had a baton or bat in the city’s Gartan Square area.
