Day wounds heal quicker
WOUNDS such as cuts and burns heal 60% faster if they happen during the day, a study revealed.
Researchers found it takes 17 days for them to get better but 28 days if they happen at night, due to how body clocks work.
The Cambridge study, published in Science Translational Medicine, could help provide better treatments for wounds.
Scientist Dr John O’neill said: “Healing time could be improved by resetting cell clocks prior to surgery.”
