Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright scored the biggest win of his career with this achingly cool heist movie, taking £171m at the global box office on a budget of only £26m. Ansel Elgort stars as ace getaway driver Baby, who plans to do one last job before hitting the road with Lily James’s pretty waitress. The dialogue pops, tyres squeal and bullets fly as the plot is pimped to the max with zippy editing and knowing humour. Plus, the soundtrack samples a stream of great tunes of every type, including Jonathan Richman’s classic Egyptian Reggae.
